Obituary of Charles R. Walters

Byron: Charles R. Walters, 83, of Byron died Thursday February 10, 2005. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Pentecostal Church. Entombment will follow in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Revs. Mark Fogarty, Alfred Deeds, David Walters, Wesley Arnold and George Helmuth will officiate. Mr. Walters, a native of New Carlisle, IN, was the son of the late Ernest and Carrie Inez Higginbotham Walters and the widower of Elizabeth Ann Moore Walters. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church. He was also a retired contractor and a US Army veteran. Survivors include his children: Pam Phillip McCloud of DeQuincy, LA, Karen W. Billy Simmons of Byron, Charles Mary Jane Walters Jr. of Mooresville, NC. Siblings: Janice Arnold, Barbara Jean Thurston, David O. Walters and Paul D. Walters. Grandchildren: Stephanie Hardestry, Suzanne Broxson, Amanda Walters, Kendra Simmons, Charles R. Walters II and Kyle Simmons. Great grandchildren: Steffan Hardesty, Allyssa Hardesty, Rustin Hardesty, Matthew Broxson and Emily Kayte Broxson. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday at the First United Pentecostal Church. Flowers will be accepted but memorials may be made to the First United Pentecostal Church, 603 Wellborn Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31088. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
