Obituary of Sophie Lorraine Papuga

Warner Robins, GA- Sophie Lorraine Papuga, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday July 29, 2018. Sophia’s funeral mass will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday August 2, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Fred Nijem will officiate. Immediately following mass, she will be laid to rest in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Deacon Jim Hunt will hold a Rosary on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 6:00PM with a Visitation to follow until 8:00pm at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Sophie was born on June 18, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Walter and Josephine Papuga, both of whom immigrated to America from Poland to build their lives together. Sophie was a Flight Attendant for United Airlines and loved traveling the world. She recently told a trusted friend she felt blessed to have lived a happy life. She was a loving sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by one brother, Teddy Papuga. Her memory will forever be cherished by her sister, Evelyn Walden, Chicago; nephew, Ron Walden; and close friends, Wanda De La Cruz, Warner Robins and Elizabeth Almena, Warner Robins.
