Obituary of Brenda Sue Smith

Perry, GA - Brenda passed away unexpectantly from natural causes on July 3, 2019 and went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 58. Funeral services and a celebration of her life will be at 2:00PM on Thursday, July 11, 2019 in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

Brenda was known for her strength, and her kind and compassionate spirit. She had struggled with alcoholism in earlier years, but took her hard times as experience to later become a Certified Addiction Counselor. Brenda worked for many years at several facilities helping others, most recently at Coliseum Behavioral Health and Houston Medical Center. Brenda loved her career and even returned to college recently to advance in her career. Her hobbies included reading books, appreciating art and music, and she was a big fan of coffee. Brenda’s other loves in life were spending time with her granddaughters and her dog, Sadie.

She leaves behind her parents, Sue and Donald Cattrell; daughters, Lauren and Selena; son, Layne; sister, Susan; brother, James; granddaughters, Rorie and Genna; her dog, Sadie; and many dear friends.
