Obituary of Melvin Hubert McLaughlin

WARNER ROBINS, GA-Melvin Hubert McLaughlin, 80, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020. A Funeral Service is scheduled for Thursday, February 20, 2020 11:00AM at the Bible Holiness Church in Leeds, Alabama. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery Thursday, 1:15PM. 
Melvin was born May 4, 1939 in Leeds, Alabama to the late Jessie and late Omie McLaughlin. He served his country proudly in several branches of the military including the Navy, Army National Guard, Coast Guard, and Naval Reserves. Melvin served his community as a long-tIme volunteer at the Family Service Center in Panama City, Florida. He loved his wife of 60 years, family, and the Lord Jesus Christ. Melvin made sure he provided for his family and provided them with various opportunities to experience and enjoy life. He had an entrepreneurial spirit building several enterprises from the ground up. Melvin also worked on the British Petroleum Pipeline in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska from 1978 to 1991 as an Electronic Technician.
Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine McLaughlin; children, Teresa Morton (Brad) of Portland, OR, Katherine Morris (Lanny) of Lizella, GA, Mac McLaughlin, Jr. of San Antonio, TX, Elizabeth Brown (Hal) of Lizella, GA, Stephen McLaughlin of Warner Robins, GA; sister, Evelyn Isbell of Leeds, AL; grandchildren, Amber Cederberg (Jeff), Michelle Brinkley (Ben), Ryan Wridge (Marisa), Melanie Johnston (Don), Garrett Brown, Morgan Brown, Christopher McLaughlin, Mason McLaughlin, and Jared McLaughlin; and four great grandchildren.
