Obituary of Susie Rebecca Gordon

Susie Rebecca Gordon (Becky), 76, passed away in Vienna surrounded by family and friends on Saturday, September 26, 2020. A Funeral Service will be Tuesday, September 29, 2:00PM in the First Baptist Church in Vienna. A visitation for family and friends will be from 1:00PM until 2:00PM Tuesday, one hour before the service at the church. The Reverend Don Howell will officiate.

Becky was born April 28, 1944 in Abbeville, Georgia to the late M.B. and Susie Wilson Wilcox. She retired as a Social Worker for the Dooly County DFACS and won several caseworker of the year awards. Becky was a member of the First Baptist Church in Vienna and sang in the gospel group “Smile Awhile Quartet”. She owned and operated Collins Daycare along with her sister and was very active in the Senior Citizens Group in Vienna. Becky’s favorite pastime was tending to her flower gardens. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and Aunt and everyone who knew her will miss her. In addition to her parents, her husband, Charles Gordon; son, Bo Gordon; brother, John Hiram Wilcox; and son-in law, J.K. Stewart precede her in death.

Becky’s memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Kim (David) Grantham of Vienna; son, Chuck (Kay) Gordon of Vienna; grandchildren: Chas (Mindy) Stewart of Vienna; Courtney (Frankie) Fetto of Jupiter, Florida, Kyndal Gordon of Hahira, daughter-in-law, Gail Rachels of Cordele, Kristy (Kael) Silcox; Kerri (Shone) Forsythe, Buck (Sarah) Grantham of Statesboro; great grandson, Hudson Fetto, great grandchildren, Emily Sue  and David Grantham, Nora Silcox, Emery Silcox, and Flint Forsythe; sister, Harriett Hester of Warner Robins; brother, George Wilcox of Warner Robins; and her beloved dog, John: and several Nieces and Nephews.
