John was born on August 8, 1937 in New York, New York to the late Charlotte Hormerte and Harold Edward Hume. John proudly served his country in the United States Air Force faithfully for 20 years. Upon his retirement from the Air Force John continued to serve his country as a civilian at Robins Air Force Base where he served as an F-15 and C-130 Mechanic. He was a man who loved being outdoors often times hunting for big game or on a body of water fishing. John is also survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
The family would like to offer a heartfelt thank you to John’s hunting buddy, Larry (Valerie) Myrick for all the hunting trips and countless memories. They would also like to thank Dave and Sandy Baardsen for not being just great neighbors but for the love, and compassion they had expressed while caring for John.
