Obituary of Rex Eldridge Warren

BYRON, GA-Rex Eldridge Warren, 64, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021. A graveside service is scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, 2021, 10:00 AM in Parkway Memorial Gardens in Warner Robins, Georgia.


Rex, a.k.a. Hamma, was born September 8, 1956 in Macon, Georgia to the late Eldridge and Kathryn Warren. He retired from Brown & Williamson after 29 years as a machine operator. Hamma was an avid sports fan and regularly followed NASCAR, the Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, and the Warner Robins American Little League. He also enjoyed bowling and playing softball at Central City Park in Macon. Hamma was known for doing charity rides on his Harley Davidson and Sunday drives in his Corvette and other fast cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and he will be missed by everyone who knew him.


Rex is survived by his wife, Cheryl Warren; children: Shane Warren of Centerville, Christy Rozier (Robbie) of Warner Robins, Jordan Warren (Zach Fertic) of Florida, and SSgt. Chase Warren, (USAF) of California; grandchildren: Brendan Warren, Shelby Warren, Haleigh Rozier, and Cole Rozier; Sister, Kathy Newsome (Ricky) of North Carolina; nephews: Blake, A.J., and Cody Newsome; and very special friends: Randy, Gramma, Ms. Jonnie, Mr. David, Mike M. and his work family.
