Obituary of Michael Wayne Vandergriff

Warner Robins, Georgia – Michael Wayne Vandergriff, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 2, 2021. A Memorial Service honoring his life will be held at a later date.

Michael was born on July 6, 1965 in Macon, Georgia to Dorothy Gillis and the late Wayne Vandergriff. Michael was a very simple man who loved music and the meaning it withheld in. He was a true fan of Southern rock music especially the Allman Brothers. On Saturday’s, Michael was often times found cheering on the UGA Bulldogs. He was a very devoted family member who loved sharing a laugh with others. He will forever be remembered for his simplistic but numerous personality.

Left to cherish his beloved memory is his beloved children, Michael Shane Vandergriff (Jessalyn), Dorothy Marie Vandergriff; Mother, Dorothy (Wayne) Gillis; Sister, Sandy Vandergriff Blackwell, Stepbrother, Darrell Gillis, Half siblings, Krissy Vandergriff, Kerry Vandergriff, Kevin Vandergriff, and his girlfriend of 16 years, Patricia Frey. He is also survived by a host of extended family members and countless friends.
