Obituary of Kathleen Bell

Kathleen Sylvia Bell, age 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 18, 2022. A Mass will be held Wednesday, January 26th, 2022, 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church with Father Stephen Pontzer and Deacon Jim Hunt officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Andersonville National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with her late husband. Friends can greet the family Tuesday, January 25th between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home.

 

Kathleen was born in Bishop Auckland, England on February 4, 1934 to John Jack Kelsey and Ada Annie Cooper Kelsey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Greely Bell, her parents and 10 brothers and sisters; Mary Kelsey Parish, Jack Kelsey, George Kelsey, William Kelsey, Douglas Stephen Kelsey, Derek Kelsey, Noreen Margaret Kelsey Buskin, Kathleen Kelsey Harris, Kevin Kelsey and Maretta Nadine Kelsey.

 

Kathleen worked in many roles at Robins Air Force Base and retired as a supervisor supporting the U-2 Dragon Lady.  She was a diligent worker who took pride in everything she did. She traveled extensively, had a gift for growing tea roses, loved literature and British comedies, spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed a good cup of tea and a biscuit. Her friends and family enjoyed her quick wit and sense of humor.  Kathleen was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed.

 

Kathleen is survived by her children, Shireen Bell, Howard (Lisa) Bell, Catherine Bell (Ben Curtis), Andrew (Joy) Bell, Debora (Mike) Wagner, Lorraine Bell (Richard Hogen); eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and a host of extended friends and family.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Paget's Association, Suite 5, Moorfield House, Moorside Road, Swinton, Manchester, M27 0EW or Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 300 S Davis Dr, Warner Robins, GA 31088.
