Obituary of Betty King

Byron, Georgia – Betty King, 73, went home to be with her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. A Graveside Service honoring the life of Betty will be held on Saturday at 1:00PM at Parkway Memorial Gardens. 

Betty was born on November 14, 1948 in Orlando, Florida to the late Ethel Barnes and William Chastain. Betty was a strong willed woman who possessed a great sense of humor. She could often times be found surrounded by those she loved and cherished reminiscing on the good times. In Betty’s younger years she worked for Farmers Furniture where she served as a sales person and developed countless relationships with her clients. Betty was an avid baker who loved making goodies for all to enjoy and satisfy their sweet tooth. 

Betty loved the outdoors and the beauty in which it possessed. For instance, she could often times be seen outdoors watching for beautiful humming birds. She also enjoyed gardening her world famous flower beds. Betty was a very selfless individual who loved to help others in their time of need. She was a very charismatic individual who  made beautiful blankets and hats for “United in Pink”.  Betty was a very nurturing lady who loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings. 

In addition to her parents, there awaiting for Betty at the gates of heaven is her beloved husband, Hoyt King, and her two loving sons; Christopher King, and Timothy King. 

Left to cherish her beautiful memory is her beloved siblings; Bessie Baxter (Larry), Renda Cain, Opal Ruffule, William Chastain;  Daughter-in-law’s; Christina King, Lisa King; Grandchildren, Katelynn King (Jordan Morris), Nicholas King (Haley), Megan Sutton (Johnny Sanders), Jessica Garner, Carter Leslie (Demi Whaley); Great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Hayden, Reed, Grayson, and Graham. Betty is also survived by her beloved sisters Bessie’s children, and grandchildren who loved her dearly along with her beloved fur baby, Gizmo and many extended family members as well as countless friends. 

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks that donations be made to St. Jude Research Hospital and/or “United in Pink”.
