Obituary of Jessie C. Rigsby

McRae, Georgia, Jessie C. Rigsby, 93, went home to be with her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, February 28, 2022. A Funeral Service honoring the life of Jessie will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at 1:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. A Visitation will be held with family and friends one hour prior to the service from 12:00PM to 1:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. 

Jessie was born on August 26, 1928 in Eastman, Georgia to the late Barbara Harrell and Jesse Cannington. Jessie was a loving woman who loved being surrounded by those she loved and cared for. Thanksgiving brought Jessie much joy due to her being able to host her family and share countless stories. Jessie was a very punctual woman who loved order in all that she did. Through her punctuality, she was able to have a long and successful career at Robins Air Force Base as a civilian. 

When Jessie was not working she could often times be found with her loving friends and making countless memories. In her younger years, Jessie was a lady who loved adventuring and camping with her family.

In addition to her parents there awaiting for her at the gates of heaven is her beloved husband, James Rigsby, her loving Son, Gregory Harrell, her sibling, Claude Cannington; and her nephews; Bruce Peterson, Jeff Powell, and her niece, Becky Dreggers. 

Left to cherish Jessie’s memory is her Step-daughter, Lucy Sneed; Grandchildren; Michael Sneed, Stephanie Helms; Siblings; Annie Peterson, Carson Cannington, Carolyn Justice, Mozelle Powell; Nephews, and Nieces, Chris Cannington (Jen), Cindy Cannington, Larry Peterson, Glenn Cannington, Wanda Burdette (Scott), Melody Justice, Sherri Justice, Kevin Justice (Anita),  Candice Brown (Fred), and Tina Edwards (Phillip). Jessie is also survived by a host of extended family members and countless lives in which she had touched over the years.
