A visitation with family and friends will be held Thursday, August 18, 2022 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Immediately following the services, Solomon will be laid to rest at Parkway Memorial Gardens.

Solomon was born on July 23, 1948 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to the late Solomon Wesley Washington, II. and Chaney Parker. Solomon was a very selfless man who loved helping others in their time of need. Solomon attended Alcorn State University for his undergrad and later earned his Master’s degree in Social Work.  After graduating, Solomon then enlisted into the United States Air Force where he served for 30 years as an officer. During his tenure in the military Solomon had counseled countless of his fellow brothers and sisters in arms as Chief of Social Actions. Upon his discharge, Solomon then began his second career at HODAC where he counseled young people in the Houston County School District.

Solomon understood the importance of investing into the hearts of the younger generation and he did so through countless ministries. He served as an advisor for the Royal Ambassadors, a mentor program for young men at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church. When mentoring others he always shared wisdom through personal events and the wisdom of God. Solomon was a true man of God, who served the Lord with all of his; soul, mind, heart and strength. Solomon was not ashamed to express the love he had for his Lord. Throughout his life, he had served on countless ministries including Chairman for the Ushers Board for Fellowship Bible Baptist Church.

When Solomon was not working professionally or in the church, he could be found boarding a cruise line. Solomon and his beloved wife Betty had traveled all over the world and golfed the courses many dream of playing. He was an avid golfer and a proud member of the Ebony Drivers of Middle Georgia. Solomon enjoyed the simplicities of golf and the peace it brought to him.

While Solomon loved the game of golf nothing came close to the love he had possessed for his family. His most favorite pastime was watching his grandboys play sports and his granddaughter dance with Studio Powers. He was a family man who strived to provide for those he loved. Solomon was a lover of music, University of Alabama football (ROLL TIDE), and the Atlanta Falcons. He will forever be remembered for his unconditional love, which led his family to follow the Lord our God. His family observed firsthand what it meant to be a true follower of Christ and leading the household in such a Godly manner.

In addition to his parents there, awaiting for him at the gates of heaven is his beloved first bride, Pam Haygood.

Left to cherish his legacy is his beloved wife of the last several years, Betty Cleveland Washington; Children, Melanie Hudson (Don), Solomon W. Washington, IV; Grandchildren, Nigel Lane (Clairus), Don Hudson, Jr. “DJ”, Zion Hudson, and Gabrielle Hudson. Solomon is also survived by a host of extended family members and countless friends.

The family respectfully asks that in Solomon’s legacy that donations be made to Fellowship Bible Baptist Church Youth Ministry, 431 Dunbar Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
