Obituary of Barbara Batten Shaw

Fort Valley, GA- Barbara L. Batten Shaw, 53, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, November 25, 2022, 1:00PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation is scheduled for Friday from 12:00 until 1:00PM, one hour before the service.
Barbara was born March 13, 1969 in Jesup, Georgia to Charles Batten, Sr. and Betty Hortman. She worked as a truck driver for Arnold Transportation. Barbara enjoyed watching historical fiction shows on Television and she was an avid reader. Barbara loved a good camping trip and made a point to go whenever with whoever she could. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister and everyone who knew her will miss her.
Barbara is preceded in death by her grandson Waylon, and grandmother Bea Hutto.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 32 years, Randy Shaw; parents: Charles Batten, Sr. and Betty Hortman; children: Shawn (Jamie) Pearce, Ryan (Ashley Pearce), Candice Shaw, Randi (Thomas) Darby, and Nora Hortman; step child, Matt Brown; grandchildren: Addison, Avrie, Levin, Liam, Gunnar, Wyatt, Ryleigh, Anistyn, Bowen; siblings: Charles (Amanda ) Batten, Jr. and Kayla Hortman.
