Obituary of Julia (Judy) M. Locke Jones
Julia "Judy" Mae Jones, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 10, 2022. A celebration of her life will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Friday, December 16, 2022 at 1:00 PM with Reverend Larry Little officiating. The committal service will immediately follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Thursday, December 15, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm. Flowers are accepted and donations may be made in Judy's memory to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Rd, Macon, GA 31210.
Judy was born in Milan, GA to the late Julia and James Locke on May 1, 1938. In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her beloved siblings: Emily Grimes, Mary Bond, Bill Locke, Silas Locke, Jimmy Grimes, and Jane Bridges.
At a young age, Judy devoted her life to serve her Lord and Savior. She worked at Green Acres Baptist Church as their secretary for over 20 years and was also a former President of the Georgia Baptist Church Secretaries Association. Judy taught Ladies Sunday School Class at Westside Baptist Church, currently known as Lighthouse Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA.
Judy, ‘Mom’, ‘Mimi’, ‘Grandma Jones’ left a legacy of love and traditional family values that will continue through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed being part of a large family and spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews. She was loved and cherished by many.
Judy is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, William Ralph Jones; children: Sherrie (David) Dunn, Terrie (Scott) Hastings, Joy (Michael) Card, and Randy Jones; grandchildren: Leslie (Hampton) Harbin, Dana (Donnie) Swing, Rachael Hastings, Matthew (Renee) Hastings, Zachary (Katherine) Card, Joshua Card, Morgan Card, William Jones, Layson Jones, Kolby Jones and Amryn Jones; great grandchildren: Riley Harbin, Beckett Swing, Piper Swing, and Hannah Hastings; siblings: Eddie Locke, Joel Locke, and Karen Price; and a host of extended friends and family.
