Obituary of Thomas Jackson Singletary

Thomas "Jack" Singletary, 80, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 3:00pm in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. A visitation is scheduled for Monday evening, January 9, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at the funeral home. Jack will be laid to rest in the Bonaire Cemetery. Pastor Jerry Walls and Mr. Randy Toms will officiate.

Jack was born November 14, 1942 in Cochran, Georgia to the late Elzie Singletary and Annie Mae Lavendar. As a Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served his country for five years in the United States Army, followed by seven years of service in the United States Navy. Jack retired from civil service as a Vehicle Control Officer on Robins Air Force Base. In addition to these ventures, Jack served as a volunteer Lieutenant in the Houston County Fire Department. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, woodworking, playing the guitar, working on cars, having coffee with friends, and most importantly, spending time with his family. Jack was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and everyone who knew him will miss him.

In addition to Jack's parents, brothers: Oscar, Johnny, Cheselee, George, Vernon, and Ben Singletary; sisters: Jane Harrison, Rosalee Tuemler, and Frances Abbott precede him in death.

Jack is survived by his wife of fifty years, Sharon Singletary; children: Jason (Sarah) Singletary of Pensacola, Florida, Karen (Jeff) Barrett of Kathleen, Georgia; and Donna (John) Torres of Weare, New Hampshire; grandchildren: Jessica, Jason, and Sarah Singletary, Carrie Barrett, Michael, and Meghan Long, Joseph Torres, Layton, and Lyla Davis, Jacob, Taylor, and Heath Barrett; five great grandchildren; five brothers: David (Sheralyn) Singletary, Mike (Gaynelle) Singletary; Paul (Kathy) Singletary, Ricky Singletary, and Dean Horne; Uncle Homer Singletary; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
