Obituary of Charles Robert "Rip" Nutting

Charles Robert "Rip" Nutting, age 56, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2023. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Sunday, January 29th, 2023. A visitation will be held an hour prior at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home between 4:00 PM until 5:00PM. 

Rip was born on December 28, 1966 to the late Charles Nutting Sr. and Cassandra "Candy" Cross. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jarrett Cross; uncle, Ron Smith; and nephew, Aaron Cross.  

Rip was a native to Macon and graduated from Southwest High School, where he was elected for Student Council and was on the football team. He worked as a store manager and salesman for several stores around middle Georgia. Rip's true love in life was music. He was very active in the Macon music community; where he regularly recorded songs while playing guitar with his friends and dearest daughter.  Rip was a very kind, loyal, and caring man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Rip is survived by beloved daughter, Casey Nicole Nutting Sams; step father, Freeman "Skeet" (Nancy) Cross; aunt, Toni Nutting Mckie; uncle: Marc Smith; niece, Cheyenne Cross; nephews: Dalton Cross, Peyton Cross, and Dustin McCallum; numerous cousins including: AJ and Kevin Smith and a host of extended friends and family.
