Obituary of Madeline Stewart Toler

Madeline Stewart “Tootsie” Toler of Centerville, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 13 at the age of 96.  A funeral service is scheduled for Monday, February 20, 11:00AM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. She will be entombed next to her husband, Lee Toler in the Parkway Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. A visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday, February 17 from 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Chaplain Lisa Johnson will officiate.

Madeline is survived by her children: Dr. William Toler (Elizabeth), Pamela T. Midkiff, and Robert Toler (Sandy); 6 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.  

Madeline was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico on January 9, 1927, to Robert and Alta Stewart, one of six children.  After graduating from Alamogordo High School, she met and married the love of her life, Lee Frank Toler.  After years of moving around, they finally settled in Centerville.  Madeline worked at Warner Robins AFB, and Frank established Toler’s Paint and Body Shop.  Bill and Robert both worked at the shop during their teen years then Bill became a dentist and Robert took over the shop until the final closing in 2022.   Bill took care of his Mother’s dental health and Robert fixed every ding and car problem she ever had.  Robert also lovingly cared for his Mother the last few years of her life.  Frank and Madeline were married for 62 years.  She was lovingly known as “Tootsie” by all who loved her, a name given to her by her son, Bill.  She was a wonderful, loving woman who was treasured by her many loved ones.  She especially loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and prayed for all her loved ones, daily.  

Flowers are accepted, however, donations may be made to the Hospice Care Options, 306 North Davis Dr. Unit C, Warner Robins, Georgia 31093.
