Obituary of M.L. (Mac) Maglothin
M.L. (Mac) Maglothin, passed away March 6, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born August 28, 1936 to the late Wilford L. Maglothin and Mildred Gooch. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 14, 2023 at 2:30 PM at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia. A visitation will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 from 6 PM to 8 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory.
Mr. Maglothin entered the United States Navy and later entered the United States Air Force in 1954. He had military assignments in Korea, Germany, Alaska, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Colorado and finally Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins, Georgia. While in Colorado he was the NCOIC of airman assignments. He retired from active military service as a Chief Master Sergeant in 1976 and joined the civil service ranks at Robins Air Force Base in 1977. Mac was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins, Georgia where he was the president of the Seniors Sunday School Class. He also served as an usher in the bus ministry and the sound system team. He enjoyed playing softball for the Second Baptist Bombers. In addition to playing softball, Mac enjoyed casting a fishing line, hunting, race cars, and also was an avid rodeo rider in his younger years. Mac was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy S. Maglothin. He is survived by his sons: Randy (Jennifer) L. Maglothin, Sr. and Bryan (Alma) Carpenter; daughter: Jan (Robert) Gause; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
