Obituary of Susan Abigail Higdon

Susan Abigail Higdon, 75, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 7, 2023. A visitation will be held Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home between 12:00 PM until 1:30 PM. A graveside for family will immediately follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens with Rabbi Elizabeth Bahar officiating.

Susan was born in New York on October 8, 1947 to the late Arthur Greenspoon or Clare Schechter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mathon Higdon; daughter, Leah Edelman; son, David Edelman; and brother, Peter Greenspoon. 
Susan was a loving and humorous woman who took great pride in her family. She greatly enjoyed taking care of any animal, and took in delight in pigs and her beloved dog, Chewy. Susan was a loving mother, grandmother, great and great great grandmother who will be deeply missed by all her knew her.  

Susan is survived by her cherished step children: Connie Higdon, Kathy Higdon Yancey (Daryl), and Linda Moss (Howard); 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; niece, Meg Wiggins; and a host of extended friends and family.
