Obituary of Derek Manuel Gonzalez

POOLER, GA- Derek Manuel Gonzalez, 57, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 19, 2023. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 23, 2023 from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory.

Derek was born August 19, 1965 in San Diego, California to Betty T. Gonzalez and the late Alfred Hector Gonzalez. He worked in several restaurants and was the General Manager of Logan’s Roadhouse in Savannah. Derek enjoyed visiting the beach to see the ocean. One of his most favorite spots was Panama City Beach. Derek loved to listen to Classic Rock music and watch B-rated sci-fi movies on the SYFY Channel. He was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle and everyone who knew him will miss him.

Derek is survived by his daughters: Nichole Antoinette Charboneau (Daniel Johns) of Alabama, Jessica Grace Akin (James T.) of Alabama, Victoria Lynn Gonzalez of Perry, and Madisyn Brooke Gonzalez of Perry; mother, Betty Tsikouris Gonzalez of Georgia; siblings: Alfred H. Gonzalez, Jr. (Candee), Mark R. Gonzalez (Jody), and Gina Gonzalez Miller; and many nieces and nephews.
