Obituary of Mrs. Almetta Route Johnson

Mrs. Almetta Route Johnson, 91, went to be with her Lord and Personal Savior on May 19, 2023. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 3 PM at Fellowship Bible Baptist Church. Reverend Reginald May will be officiating. 

Almetta was born in Covington, Louisiana to the late Clarence Route and Alma Robinson Route. In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her siblings: Clarence Route, Jr., and Earnest Route. Almetta devoted her life to serving those she cherished. She was an elementary school teacher in San Diego, California and touched the lives of children for over 40 years. Almetta was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Almetta is survived by her beloved children, Conna Hardy, Keith Johnson, and Walter H. Johnson III; grandchildren: Nicole Johnson, Evan (Alexus) Hardy, Alan (Kristen) Hardy, Walter (Erica) H. Johnson IV, Quana (Ron) Edwards, and Brandon Johnson; 11 great grandchildren, siblings: Greg (Emma) Route, Veverlyn Dorsey, and Larry (Blair) Route, and a host of extended friends and family.
