Carol Leaptrot Wright

Obituary of Carol A. Leaptrot Wright

Carol Ann Leaptrot Wright died surrounded by her family and friends on May 8, 2024, in Byron, Georgia at the age of 63.  A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at 1:30 PM at The Table at First Christian Church,  Pastor Jordan Williams will officiate.

Carol was born on March 31, 1961 in Macon, Georgia to the late Alton Leaptrot and Catherine Spivey Leaptrot. She is preceded in death by grandmother, Virginia Purser and brother, Michael Leaptrot (Denise) of Dry Branch Georgia.

Carol had a successful career as a civil servant at Robins Air Force Base serving the Department of the Air Force with distinction. She was one of the bravest, most determined, strong-willed, good-hearted, and generous people you could have known. She suffered a massive stroke 20 years ago at a very young age. Medical doctors and physical therapists said she wouldn’t recover and walk again, but like the little engine that could she did walk again and go on to live her life fully. God granted her another opportunity for love again when she connected with her husband, Lewis “Curly” Wright, who loved her unconditionally and took care of her until his passing. Their time together was a period of great happiness and after his death, Carol continued to be the little engine that could and continued to live her life fully.

She was a dedicated member of The Table at First Christian Church and attended as often as she could. She loved her family and friends dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. Her precious little Pomeranian, Fluffy, was her constant companion. She had a deep love for good music, delicious food and NCIS.

Carol is survived by her siblings: Kathy Fahey (Terry) Folkston, Georgia, Mark Leaptrot (Jennifer) Macon, Georgia; nieces and nephews: Ashely, Bethany, Brian, Haley, Peyton, Jordan and Sydney;  brother-in-law, Steven Kidd (Sue) of Bonaire, Georgia; niece-in law, Rebecca Kidd; nephew-in-law, Seth Dawson of Warner Robins; beloved friends: Rhoda, Donna and Alex.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the Table at First Christian Church, 100 North Houston Road, Warner Robins, GA 31088. Also, the family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the end of life care that Carol received at Villa Rose Assisted Living in Byron, Georgia.
