Obituary of Mr. Freddie Dean Edwards

Mr. Freddie Dean Edwards, 71, passed away with his loving family at his bedside on April 29, 2024. A celebration of his life will be held in the Chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, May 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM. A visitation will be held one hour prior at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home, Friday, May 3, 2024 between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM. 

Freddie was born in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Warren and Omie Edwards on March 29, 1953. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Robin Lackey and siblings: Teddy Joe Edwards, Sunny Edwards, and Cicilia Knowles. 
Freddie devoted his life to serving his community, family, and the Lord. He enlisted into the United States Air Force at a young age, following in his father's footsteps. After the military, Freddie continued to travel throughout the United States as a truck driver. When he was not working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. He was an avid Georgia fan; he cheered on the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, and Bulldogs. He also cheered for the Dallas Cowboys. In addition to sports, Freddie enjoyed listening to God's word and scripture. When able, he  rejoiced at Powersville United Methodist Church. Freddie was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 

Freddie is survived by his cherished children: Ellen (Dennis) Rowland, Freddie Dean Edwards, Jr. , Stephen Edwards, and Brandon (Jennifer) Edwards; grandchildren: Preston (Ivanka) Evans, Reed Painter, III, Garrett (Brittany) Painter, Blake Edwards, Elijah Edwards, Ethan Edwards, Dean Edwards, Cali Edwards, Leah Edwards, and Christian Edwards; great grandchildren: Reed Painter, III, Owen Painter, Nova Painter, and Walker Painter; siblings: Warren (Ursula) Lee Edwards and Eddie (Linda) Edwards, and a host of extended friends and family.
