Obituary of Darlene Gail Covert

Mrs. Darlene Gail Avery Covert, 76, went to be with her Lord and Savior Tuesday, March 19, 2024. A celebration of her life will be held in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM. The committal service will immediately follow at Parkway Memorial Gardens Sunset Mausoleum, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Richard F. Covert, Jr. A visitation will be held Friday, March 22, 2024 at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Darlene was born on January 30, 1948 in San Francisco, California to the late Robert E. Avery and Betty Lou Epperson Avery. In addition to her parents and spouse of 49 years; Darlene is preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Candy; brother, James; and sister, Pat. 

Darlene devoted her life to serving her family, friends, and the Lord. As a young girl, Darlene enjoyed crocheting and dancing. After marrying the love of her life, she cherished the times they would spend outside watching and caring for horses. Darlene was a faithful member at The Assembly in Warner Robins where she loved listening to scriptures, singing gospel hymns, and engaging with others in the Oasis Sr. Living Ministry. She also attended Ole Clinton Opry and performed karaoke. Most importantly, Darlene was fond of the beach and cherished the time spent with her family and friends. Darlene was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and dear friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. 

Darlene is survived by her children: Richard F. Covert, III (Sharon), Scotty E. Covert, and Brandy Lindstorm (Edward); 16 grandchildren; numerous great grand children; several great great grandchildren; sister, Wanda; brother, Kenneth; and a host of extended friends and family.
