Obituary of Bernard John Bemke

Warner Robins, GA: Bernard John ?Ben? Bemke, Sr., 76, passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2006. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday in the Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersoville, Georgia. Mr. Bemke was born in Cranmoor, WI to the late Alexander and Eva Zurkowski Bemke. He was also preceded in death by a sister Grace Johnson and a brother Laverne Bemke. Mr. Bemke was a member of the VFW and a member of the AFGE Union Local 987 of Warner Robins. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was retired from Robins Air Force Base as an aircraft mechanic with over 30 years of service. Survivors include his sons Bernard John Bemke, Jr. of Warner Robins and Thomas Robert Bemke of Byron, stepdaughter Judy Brown of Warner Robins, brothers, George Bemke of WI, Donald Nancy Bemke of WI, Robert Margo Bemke of WI, sister Eleanor Bockenfeld of Deerbrown, WI , sister-in-law Rita Bemke, grandchildren Bernard Kretzer, Wakita N. Dekalb, John Michael Bemke and Jinger Brown and two great grandchildren Adrian L. Adams and Andrew Bemke. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
