Obituary of Frank B. Dean

Warner Robins, GA: Frank B. Dean, 85, passed away Tuesday May 16, 2006. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday in the mausoleum at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will follow after the services. Mr. Dean was born in Whitton, AR to the late Frank B. and Julia Mooring Dean, Sr.. He was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Naomi Ijames. While in the Army Air Corp., Mr. Dean served in North Africa, Tunisia and Italy during W.W.II. He farmed in Arkansas from 1945 until 1955. He retired from Robins Air Force Base in 1983 after 28 years. Mr. Dean was a former Sunday School teacher at the First United Methodist Church for 40 years and a member of the Wesley Fellowship Class. He was a volunteer at the Museum of Aviation for 20 years. Survivors include his wife June Dean of Warner Robins, daughter Linda Gowdy of Augusta, son Bruce Dean of Warner Robins, grandson Chris Gowdy of the U.S. Navy in VA Beach, VA, granddaughters Norma Williams of Hot Springs, AR, June Barefoot of Ft. Valley, great grandchildren Cory Gowdy and Saira Gay both of VA Beach, VA, Zachary and Emmalee Williams of Hot Springs, AR, Marie and Joseph Ijames of Incirlik, Turkey, brother Bill Dean of Hot Springs, AR and several nieces and nephews. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church TV Ministry at 205 N. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31093, in memory of Mr. Dean. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
