Obituary of Charles H. Williams

Warner Robins, GA: Charles Earl Williams, 86, affectionately known as ?Porky? to his family and friends, and ?Big Daddy? to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12, 2006. Services will be at 3:00 PM Friday, June 16, 2006, in the Mausoleum at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Mr. Williams was born in Wrightsville, GA to the late Charles C. and Mary Harvey Flanders Williams. He was also preceded in death by his step mother Ruby Thigpen Williams and a sister Carol Yeomans. Big Daddy’s first and foremost love was his family. He dedicated the entirety of his life’s efforts towards the caring and providing for his loved ones. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, master storyteller, hard worker, lover of planes and flying, tour guide to his grandchildren, entertainer, and friend. He served his country faithfully during World War II in the China, Burma, India theater and participated in the Berlin airlift. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant and received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Williams was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Warner Robins. Survivors include his faithful and loving wife of over 65 years Nellie Snider Williams of Warner Robins, daughter Carolyn Danny Magee of Warner Robins, daughter Raenel Hebert of Abilene, TX, son Charles H. Patie Williams of Warner Robins, daughter Susi Grant of Warner Robins, sister Francis Currie of Dublin, GA 15 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren with three more on the way. Contributions may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund at 2504 Moody Rd., Warner Robins, GA, 31088, in memory of Mr. Williams. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
