Obituary of Prentiss Byron Hayes

Byron: Prentiss Byron Hayes, 78, of Byron died Sunday December 12, 2004. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Revs. Wesley Jones and Tom Nichols will officiate. Mr. Hayes, a native of Macon, was the son of the late Leland S. and Ruby Pratt Hayes. Mr. Hayes moved to Wellston in 1929 and was a former member of First United Methodist Church of Warner Robins. After retirement from Robins AFB he moved to Byron and was a member of the Byron United Methodist Church and the Aultman-Hammock Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Tyrian Lodge 111 for over 50 years and NARFE. His sister, Grace Hayes and brother, Richard Hayes, both preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Frances G. Hayes of Byron. Children: Byron Hayes, Jr. of Longwood, FL, Stanford ?Bo? Hayes of Franklin, TN, Laurie Reeves of Marietta, GA, Julie Hampton of Southport, NC. Siblings: Virginia ?Jenny? Johnson of Warner Robins and Leland P. Hayes of Byron. Six grandchildren.
