Obituary of Marilyn Myrene Gillis

East Dublin, GA: Myrene W. Gillis, 74, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2007, in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Mrs. Gillis was born in Manhattan, KS to the late M. J. Wood and Mary Willis McDonald. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady M. Gillis and a brother Willis Wood. After retiring from Robins Air Force Base, Mrs. Gillis worked as a real estate agent with Mathews Realty Co., She was a member of the Pineview Baptist Church in Pineview, GA and a former member of the Warner Robins Board of Realtors. Survivors include her daughter Debra Gillis of East Dublin, son David J. Gillis of Warner Robins, two brothers Alan Wood of Macon and Laurence Wood of Lexington, KY, three sisters Carole Mathis Vance of Bonaire, Marcia Templeton Wayne of Dublin and Joy Hencley Roger of Byron, sister-in-law Freddie Ann Wood of Social Circle, GA, two grandchildren Devin and Daniel Gillis both of Dublin and several nieces and nephews. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
