Obituary of Nancy Stewart Miller

Dublin, GA- Nancy Stewart Miller, 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on the evening of January 5, 2018. Funeral services to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00PM on Monday, January 8, 2018, at Oconee Baptist Church in Dublin with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 11:00AM – 12:00 Noon. First visitation will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018, from 4:00PM – 6:00PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Following the services, she will be laid to rest beside her husband In Oconee Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Miller was born May 7, 1943 in Macon, GA to the late Leonard Stewart Sr. and Ruth Johnson Stewart. She retired after 33 years as Director of the Wilkinson County Department of Family and Children Services. Mrs. Miller was a faithful and devoted member of Oconee Baptist Church. She loved her church dearly and served in many areas such as a member of the choir, Sunday school teacher, and secretary. In her free time, she enjoyed playing the piano, working outdoors, sewing, doing crafts, and spending time with her dog “Buddy,” whom she adored. Mrs. Miller was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and niece who will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry A. Miller; three grandsons, Alan Miller, Luke Woodard, and Caleb Woodard; and one brother James L. Stewart, Jr. Her memory will forever be cherished by her sister, Janice Varnadoe (Larry) of Kathleen; brother, Charles Stewart (Gayle) of Warner Robins; daughter, Dyona Woodard (Jerry) of Dublin; son, Tom Miller of Irwinton; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, and many adoring nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
