Obituary of Horace M. Brooks

Horace M. Brooks, 83, passed away on August 21, 2018. A funeral service for Mr. Brooks will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 11:00AM at Harvest Christian Fellowship. Mr. Eddie Ollie, Jr. will officiate. He will be laid to rest at Hardage-Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Brooks was born October 10, 1934 in Adel, Georgia to the late Robert C. Brooks and Irene B. Brannon. He served his country in the United States Air Force for 21 years and in Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base for 22 years. Mr. Brooks enjoyed watching the University of Georgia football and the Atlanta Braves. He loved to fish and spend time with his family. Mr. Brooks was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Mary B. Brooks; three daughters, Sandra K. Toler (Robert) of Warner Robins, Joan E. Pitzer (Jerry) of Perry, Julie A. Charles (Keith) of Bonaire; three sisters, two brothers, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and long-time friend and caregiver, Eddie Ollie, Jr. Please sign the online guest book at www.heritagemfh.com.
