Obituary of William Quinton Childree

William “Bill” Quinton Childree WARNER ROBINS Quinton Childree, 80, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Second Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Perry Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Mike Slade will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 â?? 8 PM Friday evening at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Mr. Childree was a member of Second Baptist Church where he was also a member of the Joy Jubilee Sunday School class. Born October 30, 1927 in Taylor County, he served in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He retired civil service from Robins Air Force Base and later owned and operated Childreeâ??s Heating and Air. He was preceded in death by his parents William J. and Jeffie Childree, brothers Ed Childree, Hugh Childree and Cecil Childree and son-in-law, Ed White. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Frances Childree of Warner Robins, son, Richard Rhonda Childree of Houston, Texas, daughters, Joyce White of Warner Robins and Shirley Chuck Smith of Lizella, grandson Jeremy Beth Miller of Perry and two great grandsons, Colby and Jonathan Miller. Sisters include Sue Crook of Macon, Vetra Brown of Oglethorpe, Lois Townsend of Warner Robins, Leila BR Dent of Reynolds, Cathy Harmon Pye of Macon, Earline Poole of Marietta, Louise John Creecy of Fayetteville and Verna Tom Taunton of Butler. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund, 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, Georgia 31088. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
