Obituary of 1SGT Lonnie M. Edenfield

Warner Robins: 1SGT Lonnie M. Edenfield, Sr. U. S. Army Retired, 76, passed away on Saturday February 25, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Rev. Jim Rozier of the First Freewill Baptist Church will officiate. First Sergeant Edenfield, a native of Wrightsville, GA, was the son of the late Oscar and Neta Kersey Edenfield. He was a member and Deacon of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and upon retiring from the Army was the Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Warner Robins. He was the catalyst for founding the New Hope Center and was a member of the Tyrian Lodge 111 and the VFW. Survivors include his beloved wife of 56 years Gertrud E. Edenfield of Warner Robins. Children: Lonnie M. Hallie Edenfield Jr. of Toccoa, Anna Marie Jeff Hufstetler of St. Simons Island, Wayne C. Edenfield of Warner Robins, Cindy J. Larry Hendrix of Bonaire. Seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to NAMI-Central Georgia Building Fund, 209 Elberta Rd., Warner Robins, GA 31093. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
