Obituary of Melvin Lee McCoy

Warner Robins Mr. Melvin Lee McCoy, 73, passed away August 25, 2008 at Emory Crawford Long Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church on Davis Drive. Interment will be held at Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 from 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. He was the son of the late James Farris McCoy and Alma Jane Nelson McCoy. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Gordon, Walter and Lindsay McCoy; sisters Alma Worley, Lucy Hicks and Sibey McCoy Wise. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base as a Logistics Specialist. Mr. McCoy was a U. S. Army veteran. Mr. McCoy was member of First United Methodist Church and a member of Winmore Sunday School Class. Survivors include his wife; Mary Jane Amerson McCoy, Warner Robins, GA; Sons; Lance and his wife Sharon McCoy, Kennesaw, GA, Anthony and his wife Irene Wilbanks, Macon, GA; sister; Betty Jean Perdue, Flovilla, GA Granddaughter, Ansley McCoy, Kennesaw, GA and a numerous number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southeastern Brain Tumor Foundation, P. O. Box 422471, Atlanta, GA 30342 or First United Methodist Church, 205 N. Davis Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31093. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is charge of local arrangements.
