Obituary of Kathleen Wood Smith

Macon, GA: Kathleen Wood Smith, 90, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008. Services will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday at Trinity United Methodist Church in Warner Robins,with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 PM Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith was born in 1918 in Meriwether County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Vann and Lula Wood. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marvin W. Smith, Jr. Mrs. Smith worked with her husband at Family Furniture Store in Warner Robins, which they owned for many years. She was an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and held several offices in the United Methodist Women organization for the district and local areas. Mrs. Smith was also a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Soriety. She and her husband were charter members of Houston Lake Country Club in Perry. Surviors include her children, Marvin Wesley Smith, III and wife Sue of Ashland City, TN, Douglas Glenn and wife Betsy of Greer, SC, Andrew Eugene Smith of Burbank, CA, Kathleen Smith Hlavaty and husband Al of Macon, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
