Obituary of Robert Bernard Barnett

Mexico Beach, FL: Robert Bernard Barnett, 69, formerly of Warner Robins, Georgia, died Saturday, March 4, 2006 at his home in Mexico Beach, Florida. Born December 10, 1936, in Hueytown, Alabama, he was the son of William McKinley and Thalia Bell Barnett. He served in both the U.S. Army and the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Korean War. Before his retirement in 2000, for years he had been a sales manager at Buzz Leonard Motors in Panama City, Florida. Prior to that he was a department manager at Sears in Warner Robins, Georgia. Survivors include his wife Shirley Wood Barnett; one son Douglas Elton Barnett and his wife Lorraine of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter, Tracie Sue Vicario and her husband Lawrence of Atlanta, Georgia; his sister, Jan Barnett Shipps and her husband Tony; his sister-in-law Anne Wood Reaves and her husband Randolph; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Robert Bernard Barnett, Jr.; his parents; one sister, Sue Barnett Parrish; and one brother, Billy John Barnett. A service will be held at 1:30 PM Tuesday in the Mausoleum at Magnolia Park Cemetery with burial following. Rev. Tom Hall Ivy will officiate. Friends may call on Monday from 6 until 8 PM and 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Following the services, friends may gather with the family at the Fellowship Hall of the Bonaire Methodist Church for a reception. Heritage Memorial Funeral is in charge of arrangement
