Obituary of Virgil E. Woodson

Warner Robins Mr. Virgil E. Woodson of Bromley Way, died October 17, 2008 at 7:30 A.M. A former contract quality assurance specialist with the Defense Department in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Woodson retired in 1990 after 40 years as a federal government employee. On retirement he and his wife Barbara moved to Warner Robins, Georgia. He was a 1945 Columbus High School graduated and served in the U.S. Navy for a period of time during and after World War II. After Navy service he was in the Harley-Davidson motorcycle sales and service business in Columbus. He was a long-time member and former trustee of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus. He enjoyed playing golf and watching all sports, especially baseball and NASCAR. Mr. Woodson was born March 17, 1927 in Pike County, Missouri, son of Floyd and Juanita Woodson. He married Barbara Randall Lawdermilt, August 18, 1950 who survives him. Other survivors include a daughter Linda Woodson Setinsek, four grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, with 10 residing in Warner Robins, Georgia, a stepson Larry Lawdermilt, and one great-grandchild residing in New Port Richey, Florida. Services will be at Heritage Funeral Home on Carl Vinson Parkway, Warner Robins, Georgia on 19 October 2008 at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorial may be made to Memorial Baptist Church. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
