Obituary of Maxwell D. Blaxton

Warner Robins, GA: Maxwell D. â??M.D.â?쳌 Blaxton, 85, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at his residence. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday at the First United Methodist Church with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Blaxton was born in Lyons, GA to the late Dee Memphis Blaxton and Lizzie Hardy Blaxton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Carol Blaxton. Mr. Blaxton was a veteran of the United States Army and served in W.W. II. He was employed with Robins Air Force for over 39 years. Mr. Blaxton was very instrumental in the development and testing of the F-15 fighter jet. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a past trustee and a member of the Wesley Sunday School Class. One of Mr. Blaxton’s joys in life was the Warner Robins Touchdown Club. He served in the touchdown club for over 50 years and was a lifetime member. Survivors include his children, Stan Brenda Blaxton of Warner Robins, daughter, Dr. Teresa Murray Garnick Blaxton of Vienna, VA, grandchildren, Chad Ellen Blaxton, Whitney Chad Martin and Alex Garnick, two great granddaughter, Kayleigh Martin and McKinley Blaxton, two brothers, Doyle Blaxton of Byron and Dewey Blaxton of Port Wentworth, GA. Contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church at 205 N. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31093, in memory of Mr. Blaxton. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
