Thomas â??Tommyâ?쳌 David Thrasher
Kathleen, GA â?? Thomas David Thrasher, 55, died at home following a lengthy illness on Thursday, November 13, 2008. Tommy was born on May 20, 1953 in Macon, GA. A graduate of Willingham High School in Macon, he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science from Georgia College and State University in 1977 and 1982, respectively. In 1992, he was awarded a Masters Degree in Logistics, also from Georgia College and State University.
After 24 years Federal Civil Service, Mr. Thrasher retired from Robins Air Force Base, GA as a Computer Science Supervisor on May 31, 2007. He was a member of Andrew United Methodist Church in Kathleen and Grace Fellowship Church in Warner Robins. He was also a member of Tyrian Masonic Lodge 111 of Warner Robins.
Tommy enjoyed composing music and playing drums with several Middle Georgia bands. His other hobbies and interests included canoeing, photography and stained glass art work.
Survivors include: his wife, Mary Washburn Thrasher of Kathleen, GA; his son, David Ryan Angela Thrasher of Warner Robins, GA; his parents, Mr. Jodie T. Thrasher and Mrs. Charlotte Burnett Thrasher of Warner Robins, GA; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, John A. Thrasher.
He will be missed by family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Andrew United Methodist Church, 2430 Highway 127, Kathleen, GA 31047. The Reverends Baxter S. Hurley and Bruce Brookshire will preside. Immediately following the service, family and friends will celebrate Tommyâ??s life at Calvin’s American Grill, 1281 South Houston Lake Road, Suite C, Warner Robins, GA.
