Obituary of Billy Gene Shierling

Centerville, GA: Billy Gene Shierling, 76, passed away Monday at Heart of Georgia Hospice in Perry. Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 7 until 9 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Shierling was born in Talladega, AL, to the late Arthur and Christine Black Shierling. He was retired from Emory University and had taught for many years at the Middle Georgia Tech in air conditioning and refrigeration. Mr. Shierling served four years in the United States Navy before retiring from the United States Air Force. Survivors includes his loving wife, Janice F. Shierling of Centerville, sons, Steve Shierling of Centerville, Robin Elaine Shierling of Bonaire, brothers, Dan Sandra Shierling of Orlando, FL, John Wayne Sue Shierling of Palm Coast, FL, sister, Brenda Mike Morgan of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Tiffany Shierling, Chase Shierling, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart of Georgia Developmental Disabilities Ministries @ 1615 Corder Rd Warner Robins, GA, 31088, in memory of Mr. Shierling. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
