Obituary of David William Barton

Warner Robins: David William ?Bill? Barton, 81, passed away on Thursday March 23, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Corinth, MS. Dr. Jimmy R. Asbell Jr. and Rev. Durwood Souther will officiate. Mr. Barton, who was born in Brookhaven, MS and raised in Jackson, MS, was the son of the late Frank and Leora Wright Barton. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and formerly attended the Fidelity Sunday School Class. He was an Army veteran, retired from Robins AFB and was on the golf team at Mississippi State and Milsaps College. His brothers Tom, Frank, Charles and John Barton all preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife Mary S. Barton of Warner Robins. Daughters: Jamie Gary Cook, Marilyn Williams of Warner Robins, Alisa Norman Jones of Middleburg, FL. Sister: Sara Rogers of Jackson, MS. Grandchildren: Angela Russ Matteo, Jill Jones, April Jones, Brittany Cook and Brandilyn Cook. Four great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Houston County, 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31088 or First United Methodist Church, 205 N. Davis Dr., Warner Robins, GA 31093. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
