Obituary of Marvin J. Bassett

Centerville, GA: Marvin J. Bassett, 78, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday in the Centerville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Bassett was born in Peach County, GA to the late Elzie J. and Evelyn Noble Bassett. He was a veteran of the United States Army were he was in the Airborne Unit and was a paratrooper. Mr. Bassett was the owner and operator of the Bassett Construction Company. Survivors includes his children, Bonnie, Gail, Toni, Jeff, & Eric Bassett, Polly, friend & mother of his children, sisters, Elizabeth Garvin, Louise Keene, Martha Sims, Ann Mason and Jeanette Smith, seven children and seven great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society @ P.O. Box 4406, Macon, GA, 31208, in memory of Mr. Bassett. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
