Obituary of Gorthan Hilmond Dickerson

Warner Robins, GA: Gorthan Hilmond Dickerson, 85, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2009. Services will be at 3:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00 PM until service time on Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Dickerson was born in Laurel, MS. He was the son of the late Curtis and Bertha Walters Dickerson. He was a member of the Winborn United Methodist Church in Greene County, MS and attended the First United Methodist Church in Warner Robins. He and his family moved from Mobile, AL, where he worked at Brookley Air Force Base, to Warner Robins where he retired as a maintenance supervisor at Robins Air Force Base. Mr. Dickerson was a 32nd degree Mason and was a member of the Scottish Rite. Survivors include his wife, Birdie M. Dickerson of Warner Robins, daughters, Barbara Don Potter of Warner Robins, Cindy Lucas of Macon, grandsons, Barry Lucas, Brian Lucas, Lee Dee Dee Potter, great grandchildren, Katelyn Potter, Julianne Potter, sister, Evelyn Bibenneditto of MS and brother, Houston Dickerson of LA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heartland Hospice House at 115 Arkwright Rd., Macon, GA 31210, in memory of Mr. Dickerson. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
