Obituary of Lena G. Maddox

Warner Robins, GA: Lena G. Maddox, 90, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 3, 2010. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, March 5th, in the Giddens-Harrell Cemetery in Dodge County, GA. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Mike Slade will officiate. Mrs. Maddox was born in Dodge County, GA. She was the daughter of the late C.W. and Narcissus Murkerson Giddens. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jack A. Maddox, son Marsden Maddox, two grandsons Darrell Maddox , Mike Poole and 6 brothers. She was a devoted and active member at Second Baptist Church until she became ill. When she was able she was involved with the XYZ senior group and the Faith & Harmony Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Warner Robins Pioneer Club, the Warner Robins Senior Citizens and a former Pink Ladies Auxiliary at the Houston Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a devoted mother, grandmother and great great grandmother. Survivors include her children Royce L. Lavada Maddox of Fresno, CA, Linda M. Poole of Warner Robins, Jackie M. Don Davis of McDonough, John R. Marcia Maddox of Naperville, IL, sisters Lelia G. Coleman, Grace G. Coleman, Jessie Lee G. Cherry all Eastman, grandchildren Carl A. Wells, Marsden Tina Maddox, Dana Gaspar, Shaylne Clark, Ryan Maddox, Chad Maddox, Casey Davis, Luke Davis, two sister-in-laws Jewell Giddens of Warner Robins, Evelyn Giddens of Eastman, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Second Baptist Church Mens & Ladies Helping Hands Ministries or to the XYZ at SBC @ 2504 Moody Road, Warner Robins, GA, 31088, in memory of Mrs. Maddox. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
