Obituary of Leokadia Sabina Kolodziej

Warner Robins, Mrs. ?Lottie? Leokadia Sabina Kolodziej, 86, passed away November 26, 2009 at her daughters home. She was the widow of Henry J. Kolodziej also predeceased by Francis Kolodziej, and sisters Marianne Czajka, Jennifer Wyzynski, Teresa Szefel all of Poland. She survived internment in Germany during WWII. Born in New Britain, Connecticut, and raised and lived in Poland until 1961. Mrs. Kolodziej was a loving and out-going mother, grandmother who loved to sing, dance, tell stories, and joke around with those she knew. Her faith in God was very strong as she would testify to His love and grace in her life. She has left her family and friends with a great legacy of faith in God. Mrs. Kolodziej was devoted to the Lord and to St. Catherine?s Church Broad Brook, CT and served in the Altar Rosary Society, Board of Religious Education and Parish Council. At Sacred Heart Church Warner Robins, GA, she was a member of the Golden Hearts. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth James Fuss of Warner Robins, GA, and her step-sons, Henry F. Kolodziej of Woodbury, CT, William Kolodziej of Broad Brook, CT, grandchildren Alexander and Bethany Fuss of Warner Robins, GA, step-grandchildren, William Kolodziej of SC, Mary Windt of NY, Stephanie Rappaport of FL and Alexandria Kolodziej of CT, also surviving a brother Leopold Szefel and sister Sofia Szefel. A viewing will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Heart of Georgia Hospice, 103 Westridge Drive, Warner Robins, GA 31088. Visitation services for Lottie will be held on Friday, 4 December 2009 from 4 PM to 6 PM at Bassenger & Dowd Funeral Home in East Windsor, CT. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM with interment at Saint Catherine?s Cemetery following the services. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of local arrangements.
