Obituary of James S. Thompson

Warner Robins, GA: James S. ?Tommy? Thompson, 74, passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 5th, in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in the Greenville Memorial Gardens in Piedmont, SC on Saturday, December 12th. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Friday, December 4th, at the funeral home. Mr. Thompson was born in Boomer, W VA. He was the son of the late Seibert and Rosa Lee Ramey Thompson. He served proudly in the United States Air Force where he retired as a MSGT. He served two duties in Vietnam and received a Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. After his retirement from the military, Mr. Thompson was the former manager of Houston Marine and the Northside Garden Apartments in Warner Robins for many years. Mr. Thompson was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen Thompson of Warner Robins, daughters Juli Flood of Byron, Amy Doug Brown of Kathleen, Susy Bobby Clibrey of Byron, Cheryl Larry Collier of Warner Robins, Anita Jackie Jackson of Tifton, Livia James Watson Taylor of Macon, grandchildren Scottie Flood of Kathleen, Daniele Matt Gilbert of Warner Robins, Tyler Flood of Byron, Miranda Alan Keene of Macon, Jessica Cale Pennington of Warner Robins, Adrian Randi Collier of Perry, Jack Jackson of CA, Jared Jackson of Alpharetta, Sadie Watson of Macon, great grandchildren Jeremy Keene, Ren Collier and Emma Jackson. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Woodruff Memorial Parkinson Building @ 101 Woodruff Circle, Suite 6000, Atlanta, GA, 30322 or to the First Presbyterian Church @ 1139 Watson Blvd., Warner Robins, GA, 31088, in memory of Mr. Thompson.
