Obituary of Brenda Carol Walters

Albany, NY: Mrs. Brenda Carol Walters, 55, of Albany New York, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends in the early morning of Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at her sister Jacqueline Rozier’s home. She was born on August 31, 1954 in Brooklyn New York and was the fourth of four children born to Euis Benita, and Jean Marie Bazile. She attended Brooklyn public schools and graduated from Prospect Heights High School in 1972. She attended Brooklyn College where she met her husband of 33 years, Lyndon Charles Walters. She continued her studies at Roberts Wesleyan College in Rochester New York earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Management in 1989. Brenda spent the majority of her career at State Farm Insurance where she started as a Claims Adjuster who traveled on the Catastrophe Team and moved up the ranks before eventually leaving to become as Advocate for the American Cancer Society. She briefly worked at PriceChopper in the Customer Service Department before medically retiring in 2008. She was an active member of First Israel AME Church in Albany, NY and sang with the Adult Choir. She loved helping people in need regardless of the situation and worked as a counselor for the Fresh Air Fund as well as with troubled youngsters in Rochester, NY at the Big Brother Big Sister Program, at Hillside Children’s Center and the City of Rochester’s Division for Youth. Although she had only one child at birth, Brenda had countless young people who called her Mom. In her leisure, she enjoyed mentoring young people, singing, gardening, knitting, interior design, consignment shopping, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in passing over by her Father, Jean Marie Bazile and her Father in Law, Charlie Gene Walters. She leaves to mourn her passing, celebrate her life, and carry on her legacy her Husband, Lyndon Charles Lawson Walters Albany, NY; her Daughter, Larissa Carol Euis Lydia Walters Baltimore, MD; her Mother, Euis Benita Bazile Warner Robins, GA; her Mother-in-Law, Sarah Cecelia Lawson Walters Jamaica, WI; her Sister & Brother-in-Law, Jacqueline & Johnnie Rozier Warner Robins, GA; two Brothers, John Bazile Brooklyn, NY and Michael Bazile Brooklyn, NY, a host of Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Friends, and Church Family. Brenda in her 55 years lived to serve the Lord and touched immeasurable lives from those who knew her personally to those who knew her from a distance. She is now home with the Lord receiving her rewards. Funeral services for Mrs. Walters will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 31st, at the Hebron Fellowship Baptist Church in Warner Robins, GA with burial in Parkway Memorial Gardens. A wake and visitation will be from 6 PM until 8PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory of Warner Robins, GA are in charge of arrangements.
