Obituary of Dorothy Orth

Warner Robins, GA: Dorothy Frances “”Dody”” Orth, 96, went home to be with her Lord on Friday April 9, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Missy Blumenthal will officiate. Mrs. Orth was born in Piqua, OH. She was the daughter of the late Otto Henry Vornholt and Jennie Tubbs Vornholt Oberlin. She was preceded in death by her husband Cletus J. Orth. Mrs. Orth was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a member of the United Methodist Women and Older Adult Organization. She was also a member of the Civilian Wives Club and the Lantana Club. After retiring from Robins Air Force as a secretary, she enjoyed her hobbies which included ceramics and painting where she taught ceramics at the Warner Robins Recreation Department for many years. Survivors include her children William W. Orth of Warner Robins, Robert L. Orth and wife Amelia from Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, stepdaughter Caroline McClain of New Madison, OH, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart of GA Hospice @ 103 Westridge Dr., Warner Robins, GA, 31088 or to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital @ One St. Jude Place Building, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300, Memphis, TN, 38148-0552, in memory of Mrs. Orth. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
