Obituary of Rita Elizabeth Dodson

Warner Robins, GA; Mrs. Rita Elizabeth Dodson, 87, passed away in a local hospital May 1st, 2010. Born in Brooklyn, Long Island, New York June 2, 1922 and resided in Warner Robins for 56 years. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Delia Kelly. Rita was preceded in death by two sisters, and husband of 57 years, Allen J. Dodson. Rita was a faithful and loving member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she was a member of the Council of Catholic Women, and Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary. Mrs. Dodson is survived by Allen J. Dodson Jr. Ernestine of Tampa, FL, Diane E. Wagner John of Warner Robins, GA, Robert F. Dodson Evelyne of O’Fallon, IL, and Ellen M. Parkin Scott of Gloucester, VA. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A visitation and prayer service is planned for Wednesday evening at 7:00 PM at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warner Robins, GA at 11:00 AM on Thursday, 6 May 2010. The burial will be at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens afterward. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Sacred Heart Catholic Service Center or the Marian stained glass window project at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
