Obituary of James E. Edwards

Perry, GA: James E. Edwards, Sr. 68 passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 AM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home with burial in Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 PM Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Jamie L. Powell will officiate. Mr. Edwards was born in Atlanta, GA. He was the son of the late Chester Wayne Edwards and Mary Joe Jones Edwards. He was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in the Vietnam conflict. After his military duties, Mr. Edwards worked and retired as a duty officer from Robins Air Force Base. Survivors include his wife Bernie Edwards of Perry, children James E. Edwards, Jr. of Marietta, Angela R. Edwards, Kristal J. Tillman , Michael R. Edwards, Traci S. Mullis all of Warner Robins, two step children Jennifer L. Parker of Eastman, Jaysen R. Baker of Sterrett, AL, sister Karen Oliver of Kennesaw, GA, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center @ 1826 Veterans Blvd., Dublin, GA, 31021, in memory of Mr. Edwards, Sr.. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
